Adonis vernalis (family Ranunculaceae) is commonly known as Spring Adonis, False Hellebore, and Pheasant’s Eye. The aerial parts of the herbaceous perennial plant are used medicinally. Native to Europe, Western Asia, and parts of Russia and Central Asia, it thrives in meadows and steppes.

- Tincture (1:5 in 40% ethanol): 10-20 drops, 1-3 times daily
- Infusion: 1-2 g dried herb in 150 mL water, 2-3 times daily
Safety & Contraindications
Due to cardiac glycosides, use with caution under professional supervision. Contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation, arrhythmias, and hypersensitivity. Overdose may cause severe toxicity including arrhythmia and gastrointestinal distress. Interactions with digitalis-like compounds and cardiovascular drugs are possible.
