Botanical Overview
Cissampelos pareira is a member of the Menispermaceae family, commonly known as Abuta, Velvetleaf, Fishwort, and Jatropha-leaved Abuta. It is native to tropical regions of Asia, South America, and Africa. The whole plant including leaves, stems, and roots are used medicinally.
